And Radio Romania International is celebrating 85th anniversary of Radio Romania and has issued its  QSL Cards for the month of January.February & March of 2013 on the theme of "Radio Romania 85" and this QSL Card is for the month of January.

A13 Assamese

As per latest Information gathered, only two  International Gospel Radio Stations in this A13 season of international broadcasting i.e. effective March 31-October 26,2013  are broadcasting in Assamese Language on shortwave.

Here is the skd.
Trans World Radio(TWR) via KTWR Agana Guam with 100kW during
1315-1345UTC on 15225kHz (Sunday to saturday).
Adventist World Radio(AWR) via KSDA Agat Guam with 100kW during
1330-1400UTC on 15660kHz (on Sunday & Wednessday Only)

From last season, two Gospel radio stations which broadcasted in Assamese i.e.Family Radio & Gospel For Asia (Athmeeya Yatra Radio) has stopped broadcasting in Assamese on shortwave.

Here is a few radio related news which I like to share with you.

VOA Bangla Chief  Meeting Listeners at Kolkata & Dhaka:
Voice of America(VOA) Bangla Chief Ms Rukya Hyder is now on official tour to Bangladesh.She  will visit Kolkata too.She will meet listeners of VOA Bangla of West Bengal at American Centre Library Pavilion at Kolkata Bookfair on sunday February 3rd in afternoon between 3 to 4PM.And on sunday , February 10th , she will meet listeners of VOA Bangla in Bangladesh at Dhaka's Daffodil University Auditorium ,Dhanmandi  from 5PM. I heard this information on VOA Bangla transmission on shortwave on February Ist.

Bangladesh Betar back on 4750kHz:
Bangladesh Betar Domestic Service was noted on 4750kHz again on January 30th (2013) around 0844UTC by me & also later in the evening. As observed latest on 1056UTC on  January 31st, it is on 4750kHz.So, they have perhaps corrected the fault for which past several days it was observed on 4752kHz.
Earlier,it was noted on the afternoon  & also later on  January 26th on 4752kHz instead of its regular frequency of 4750kHz.The audio can be audible upto 4755kHz.I was surprised to note this last afternoon.Perhaps a few radio monitors might have reported this before me.
Also I like to mention a few radio station broadcasting slightly on different frequency other than its regular announced frequency ..
Voice of Vietnam English has been noted on 7215kHz during 1530-1600UTC instead of 7220kHz .
Also as reported by many radio monitoris in DX Newsletters etc, Voice of Indonesia transmissions can be observed still broadcasting on 9526kHz instead of 9525kHz.And also Mayanmar Radio has been on air on 5986kHz instead of its regular 5985kHz...
These are a few cases to mention.

Special Programmes of Japan Shortwave Club(JSWC) On November 3,2012

Japan Shortwave Club(JSWC) is planning to air special programmes marking their 60th anniversary  to Europe and North America  on saturday ,November 3rd . I heard this information on JSWC's  Monthly DX Report segement presented by Ms Yukio Tsuji on October 7th edition of Wavescan, DX Programme of Adventist World Radio.

The skd announced by Ms Tsuji  is  as follows :
1700-1730 UTC from  France to Europe with 250kW on 6015kHz Antenna Beam at 33 degree
2330-2400UTC from French Guyana to North America with 250kW on  15775kHz Antenna Beam  at 311 degree
In addition to this JSWC is also planning to broadcast programmes from Palau to Japan but most of the broadcast will be in Japanese.And skd is
1030 to 1100UTC with 100kW on 9955kHz Antenna Beam at 345degree
Special 60th anniversary QSL Card will be issued for all correct reception reportson these programmes.

A few Radio Notes

Here is a few radio monitoring observations during September plus first week of October of 2012.

And for all monitorings..
Geographical Location of Reception Place(Abhayapuri):
Longitude:26º18´20´´North
Latitude:90º37´50´´East

Receiver:Grundig YB400 (Digital)
Antenna:Long Copper  Wire as external antenna

Bangladesh Betar on 15105kHz:
Bangladesh Betar English(External Service) transmission is now off the air as monitored by me for past two days or so on 15105kHz during 1230-1230UTC.I think they are testing this frequency from time to time.And sometimes with distorted audio as noted by me on September 26th.Otherwise,the signal strength was satisfactory but sometimes moderate to slight interference from nearby frequencies as a form of side band splatter could be observed.The frequency announced at the beginning & end was 7250kHz..only.
Voice of Mongolia English on 12085kHz:
From past several weeks,it is observed by me that Voice of Mongolia-English transmission on 12085kHz during 1030-1100UTC has been facing heavy co-channel interference from perhaps a radio station broadcasting in Chinese.

All India Radio(AIR)-Kohima on 4850kHz:
AIR-Kohima  was noted on shortwave on 4850kHz at the evening hours atleast twice in recently by me.Yes, many international radio monitors also reported listening to AIR-Kohima.I think they are broadcasting on shortwave irregularly.

Is it Radio Hargesi on 7120kHz????
Yes,now-a-days,I'm getting fair signal of a radio station often monitored by me after 1630UTC with mostly music.I guess it may be Radio Hargesi on 7120kHz.And during same time another radio station was noted on 7180kHz also with fair signal.

RTE,Dublin  on Shortwave Again With ALL Irish Football Coverage:
I heard ALL Irishish Football final coverage RTE  perhaps Via Sentech,South Africa Relay on 11915kHz onSeptember 23rd around 1628UTC for atleast 5 minutes or so.The reception was poor overall.But this time reception was very bad..nothing audible at most of the frequencies as reported earlier by me here in QTH.
On September 30th,there was another transmission of GAA All-Ireland Hurling repeat final ..This time I heard a few moments of the broadcast around 1617UTC onwards on 17540kHz with poor reception overall.The transmission was also audible on 11915kHz with same poor reception overall.
