BBC World Service English Update

BBC World Service English In The Morning 0100-0200utc:

Acting on a tip from Jose Jacob(VU2JOS) from Hyderabad,I also observed this morning (November 24th) BBCWS English has moved to 6035kHz during 0100-0200utc replacing 5875kHz.There was nothing audible on 5875kHz during that time slot.I think 5875kHz was from Uzbekistan Relay from 0000-0200utc.It is be monitored whether 6035kHz replaced 5875kHz for entire 0000-0200utc.

From the  audio tone(modulation) quality , it appears to me, it is from Uzbekistan relay.There was slight noise there with audio.

And on the parallel 7430kHz (via Oman) during 0100-0200utc,though it was previouly strong signal strength no noise etc there, today(i.e.on November 24th), I observed noise plus co-channel interference, but due to stronger signal strength the audio could be copied comfortably.

For monitoring,I used both my Grundig YB 400 & 80 with my 40/20mb Inverted V centre feed dipole.But the audio files I recorded from my Grundig YB 400.

BC Band Monitoring Flash

Date:November 15,2023

Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation(SLBC) External Service Hindi  was off the air this morning during its schedule shortwave transmission on 11905kHz during 0200-0230utc transmission.The weak signal of a co-channel station perhaps in Chinese along with moderate to weak sideband splatter of a near by station was heard instead.

Myanmar Radio was heard with English teaching program perhaps from BBC with illustration in local language was heard on 9730kHz around 0228utc with good signal.

All monitoring was done at my location at Abhayapuri and the receiver was Grundig YB 400 with inverted V 40mb centre feed dipole

*0100-0158utc 7325kHz to North America East Coast Very very noisy,jamming like noise,nothng audible as such

*This transmission for several winter seasons,I used to receive with good signal but from last winter,severe noise etc came on this frequency,now very difficult to copy rather impossible to copy.

Now In place during day hours no chance to listen to RRI English on analog mood on shortwave.

Radio Thailand World Service English:

So far, from October 30th, I monitored the station with good signal as follows

0000-0029utc 13750kHz

0200-0229utc 13750kHz

0500-0529utc 17640kHz

The reception has been good overall on frequencies.

Radio Philipinas WorldWide English

From October 30th, the station has been heard during 0200-0330utc on 17820kHz,15640kHz & 9475kHz.The reception overall is excellent on 17820kHz,on 15640kHz good signal but sometimes noisy, and on 9475kHz ,the signal sometimes audible with weak signal and sometimes nothing audible i.e.not reliable here.

Station KNLS Alkaska English Via MWV(Madagascar World Voice),Madagascar:

From October 29th too,KNLS English on 13760kHz on both 0200-0256utc & 0300-0356utc and the reception is good overall.

On other frequencies,good overall reception so far.

And need more monitoring on these frequencies or other frequencies of BBC World Service targetted to different areas.

Voice Of Turkey(VOT) Urdu:

On November 1st, I heard first time VOT Urdu from 1257utc onwards  on 15390kHz with signing on annoucements with station idd with station music repeated several times,plus opening announcements,news etc etc  with good signal strength and but audio sometimes slightly difficult to understand.
