Latest On Bhutan Broadcastiong Service on 6035kHz

On the morning of November 22nd,Bhutan Broadcasting Service(BBS) in local language of Bhutan was noted on 6035kHz as per my aircheck on 0203UTC.There was talk by a male presenter perhaps news and later during my  latest aircheck on 0215utc approx.song in local lanugage was aired.
I recorded a few audio files on 6035kHz of BBS during my morning monitoring period.

But I didn't find signal of BBS on 6035kHz from 0600UTC onwards upto 1026UTC    on November 22nd during my several airchecks.
However  November 21st around 0603UTC I heard BBS-Nepali Service with songs in Nepali at 0603UTC.And on same afternoon (i.e.November 21st) I heard BBS-English Programs with Listeners calling show..music requests etc during afternoon during 0830utc upto 0950utc(my last airchecked moment).
But I didn't find BBS's signal on 6035kHz on the evening and night on both November 20st & 21st also.

Bhutan Broadcasting Service(BBS) is back on shortwave again:

On November 20th, I heard Bhutan Broadcasting Service in English on 6035kHz from 0847UTC onwards with good reception with slight noise  & hum .Actually,I was checking the frequencies on air on 49mb with my Grundig Yatch Boy 400(Digital) Rx in the afternoon ,and I was surprised when I heard BBS in English  on 6035kHz after a long break.There was a discussion about "Salt" business etc plus music was played & then Listeners Phone Call In Show with music requests & dedications etc.The transmission was continuing beyond 1000UTC (1028UTC was last moment that I checked) as per my latest monitoring.I also checked the reception quality on my ordinary analog Philips Rx.The reception quality  was satisfactory with slight hum noise.
I thought that BBS might have  discontinued shortwave transmission and there is no possiblity of resumption of its shortwave analog transmission.Anyway, let me monitor in coming days whether it is a regular comeback or something else.

QSL From Voice of Turkey And Their Latest Interval Signal

On October 3rd,2013, I received another QSL Card from Voice of Turkey English Service for a reception report on August 31st.
Here is the scanned version of the both sides of the QSL Card.

Recently, along with other Radio Monitors,I also observed new interval signal of Voice of Turkey.It is a continous music for a while not like the interval signal on air from Voice of Turkey preveiously..a music tune then station identification announcement and then again the tune followed..repeated in same pattern for a while.

Here is a few moments of the previous Voice of Turkey Interval Signal which I used to hear for many years.

A Old & Out of Order Receiver

The above photographs are of a Old also now going out of order, Philips Receiver of one of my uncle who bought it perhaps in late 1970s a few months after he joined  a state government job in Assam.He used to listen mainly news regulary at the top volume so that others also could listen it.And I also listened numerous  hours of radio programing  via it  wayback in late 1980s & 1990-1991 period specially at night & early morning hours when he was out of station.I still remember listening to Voice of America Programing specially News & News related programs, BBC World Service & above all numerous hours of BBC Cricket Test Match Special besides our All India Radio-Guwahati programs on medium wave.It was working more or less satisfactory until one and half year back.Though he visited local electronic shop for repair but they replied parts were not available .He was sad as if he lost a closed  friend..... he lost his long time talking ,news giving companion.....And he is still keeping this receiver at his home as a personal memory.

All India Radio(AIR)-Imphal is back on  shortwave:
AIR-Imphal is back on shortwave both on its frequencies..4775kHz during morning-evening and on 7335kHz during moring & the day after a long spell of going off the air on shortwave.I did aircheck the frequencies from time to time and after a long spell of absence, I thougth there was no chance of AIR-Imphal returning to shortwave in near future.I was wrong..Very recently, the news of AIR-Imphal returning to shortwave was posted  & I immediately checked it & found AIR-Imphal back on air on shortwave on 4775kHz.
More specifically, on September 26th, 0058UTC onwards, I heard a  Manipuri Song & then some announcements & then another song was aired.The signal was fair with slight noise & hum noise was there.On September 28th, I heard sports feature in Manipuri on 4775kHz from 0140UTC onwards.

Later I also heard AIR-Imphal on 7335kHz also around 0733UTC with almost same reception quality mentioned.

All India Radio(AIR)-Shillong is back on 4970kHz:
After several weeks on 4971kHz,AIR-Shillong is back on its normal frequency of 4970kHz.

All India Radio(AIR) Guwahati A is off the air on Shortwave Plus Other observations:
For several weeks AIR-Guwahati A on 4940kHz is off the air.But an interesting thing is that during AIR-Guwahati A transmission on medium wave on 729kHz during station ID & frequency & metre band reminder announcement in Assamese they keep on mentioning on air shortwave frequency (4940kHz..)...& corresponding metre band...but actually as per my monitoring I've not hear anything on both 4940kHz(Morning &evening-night) & 7280kHz (afternoon).AIR-Guwahati-A uses two frequencies on shortwave side by side its medium wave frequency of 729kHz.
Here is recording of one such announcement in Assamese which I recorded during AIR-Guwahati A on 729kHz around 0319utc on September 25th, from my Philips DL334 Portable Receiver operated on battery.

And another medium wave frequency which airs AIR-Guwahati B programs is 1035kHz which reception is not so good here.For a long period ,I've not monitored it and that's why  not sure about what kind programs on air  & exact time schedule .As far as my memories goes, AIR-Guwahati B used to air Youth Program..Yugbani in the evening besides News Relays from AIR-Delhi & during the day programs in Hindi for Armed Forces mostly music request shows etc  was on air & also used to carry sports commentaries.During my school days,I used to listen to programs on medium wave i.e.on 1035kHz from AIR-Guwahati B almost regularly specially the music & sports commentaries.

Radio Exterior de Espania(REE) English on Weekend:
 I couldn't listen to the weekend transmission of REE-English for just over a decade of my DXING  due to several reasons .The main reason ... was interference both co-channel & sideband .But   on September 14th (saturday),I heard its transmission from 2150utc on 9660kHz for the first time in my DXING.And thanks to the  recent change in frequency of  REE-English to Europe on weekend to 9660kHz(2100-2200UTC).I'll certainly tune into weekend transmission right from start of the transmission in the remaining weekends of this summer season of broadcast.I recorded a few moments of audio of signing off announcements at 2156UTC.

As observed by me , REE English changes its time of its one hour broadcast and the frequencies on the  weekend to Europe & Africa for many years from the weekdays.

At Last ...

Yes, after receiving several old QSL Cards from Deutsche Welle Radio , finally a few weeks back,I received the latest QSL Card released by Deutsche Welle on its 60th anniversary showing its present Head Quarter Buildings in Bonn.
