All India Radio(AIR)'s Shortwave Coverage Live From Red Fort On Independence Day

Here is my monitoring observations of All India Radio(AIR)'s Live coverage on shortwave of Independence Day of India on August 15th(of 2017) & address to the Nation by Prime Minister of India from Red Fort , Delhi.

Antenna:Long Copper  Wire(30 ft plus length)..height 20ft Plus  as External  Antenna With Co-axial Lead In

Longitude:26º18´20´´North
Latitude:90º37´50´´East

AIR-Bhopal 7430kHz 0135utc Opening announcement etc..Live Comentry in Hindi from Red Fort,Good Reception Overall
Usually AIR-Bhupal is on air on 4810kHz during hour.only changes to 7430kHz around 0215-0225utc perhaps...but to give break free coverage of the PM's speech ,perhaps it AIR-Bhupal  was on 7430kHz from the start of the transmission.After getting nothing at 4810kHz around 0115utc aprrox., I retuned my Rx to 7430kHz..& heard regional news in Hindi on air.

AIR-Jeypore 5040kHz 0150utc Poor Noisy

AIR-Bengaluru (?)...... 15040kHz 0150-0209utc Commetary in English,National Anthem..Speech of  Prime Minister of India From Red Fort in Hindi ,Good

Nothing of AIR-Kurseong  on 4895kHz & AIR-Aizawl on 5050kHz,along with AIR-Hyderabad on 7420kHz (like AIR-Bhopal on 7430kHz) was heard. 

There has been no radio audio recorded this time..more precisely for past several   days now.....as I my recording device went out of order & will have to purchase another one...via online shopping. until then no radio recordings from me...

With Regards To My DXING Mentor ...Part II

From Philipines With QSL..
Good Morning To All ..
From very wet Abhayapuri..monsoon has been very active for several days..
My DX Mentor Tapan Kumar Pathak received another QSL Card from Philippines ...apart from the ones I posted in Part of the series.This one...was from Radyo Philipinas English Service way back in 1998.As I understand no return postage in the form of IRCs was given.
This QSL Card depicts Philippines's Historical Cross.

With Regards To My DXING Mentor ...Part I

Tapan Kumar Pathak,a class-mate of mine.. the person who brought me to active radio listening habit ..i.e. to correspond with radio stations about their program contents plus sending reception reports etc...for their QSL response after a long period of passive radio listening of me perhaps to March 1997..He used to inform me from time to time whenever we met about DXING..his latest QSL Cards etc...also about frequencies of broadcasts of Radio Australia's cricket commentary....etc...I always regard him a DXER in the true sense of the term...with a old Philips Receiver of his father with a long copper wire as external antenna he logged many exotic & rare radio stations...despite many personal problems..he managed to carry on his DXING ...but after getting his job & resultant workload with it   & family burden prevented him to carry on DXING....I requested him several times to be come active in DXING & Radio Listening...but I couldn't bring back him to DXING...And he never cared for any prizes and publicity as such and rarely participated in various quiz contests...

All he wanted to log new radio stations from overseas...and many sad story...many of his QSL Cards packets went missing in the post..that's another chapter....many DXERs/radio listeners in India including me had many such experiences....very very sad ...disappointing ..depressing.....

Now whenever you meet ..DXING is a topic of discussion ...what happening in the world of international broadcasting....latest developments...and its very sad to report him about closing down of radio stations on shortwave ........but surely this is happening..for whatever the season.....

A few years back, I scanned all his QSL Cards & his radio cards plus blank QSLs received by him.And a few of his QSL Cards were rare and exotic to me...I will share pixs of his QSL Cards in my page from time to time.....Here is the one he received from then Radio Veritas Asia..for their Urdu & Bengali Transmissions ...(both front side & back side)
