About Trans World Radio Assamese Going Off The Air:
The other Gospel Station which used to broadcast in Assamese for several decades, Trans World Radio(TWR) has cancelled its Assamese language in mid January this year on shortwave as reported in a blog by a radio monitor along with several other language transmissions.
This is the link where I got the information.
https://www.bclnews.it/2021/01/15/cancelled-transmissions-of-ktwr-trans-world-radio-asia-trans-world-radio-india/
TWR used to broadcast its Assamese language transmission from its transmitter site in Agana,Guam. And on this A21 season, I have not been able to trace its broadcast on shortwave.
.For several years including last winter season ,TWR-Assamese could be heard on monday to friday during 1215 to 1245utc on shortwave(9910kHz during B20 season).I am not sure about the reason of this discontinuation.
I do not know from when exactly TWR began its Assamese transmission.I found mention of TWR Assamese transmission along with then Radio Moscow's Assamese transmission in an article by Mukut C Sarma in Bigyan Jeuti, bimonthly Magazine(in Assamese) of Assam Science Society of 1985.This means TWR is the first Gospel radio station to broadcast in Assamese and it might have been on air atleast a few years earlier from 1985.
Here is the snap of the footnote with skd of international broadcasting station in Assamese during that time printed with the article of Mukut C Sarma in Bigyan Jeuti on the hobby of DXING which was scanned by me.The article is in my collection.
More inputs/monitoring updates etc soon.
