The Only FM Broadcasting Station Audible Now At Abhayapuri..
Akashvani Goalpara on 102.6MHz (1kW)
Yes, now-a-days) for several months), the only FM broadcasting station audible with good (loud & clear)reception is Akashvani Goalpara on 102.6MHz (1kW) relaying Akashvani Guwahati Mahabahu Programmes from Guwahati. The aerial distance of Goalpara Town(on the bank of southern part of the Brahmaputra river) from my location at Abhayapuri is 19-22km approx. The transmitter is located at the top of Hulukanda Hill on the bank of the Brahmaputra. I heard earlier once in a week for hour or so duration of Akashvani Goalpara might have been on air with their own program produced in their own studio.But I have so far no schedule of it or any confirmation of its weekly program production on air.

For several months now, the reception of Akashvani Kokrajhar on 102MHz(10kW with 70km area reception radius) has been not satisfactory at all after initial a few months excellent reception here at Abhayapuri.I do not know the reason of not so good signal strength plus noisy reception of Akashvani Kokrajhar though aerial distance of coverage is well within the 70km radius area.
Also the reception of Bhutan Broadcasting Service(BBS) on 96MHz has been very poor here for several months now.
And the Guwahati based private FM Stations viz. Radio Mirchi on 95MHz, Big FM 92.7MHz, Radio GupShop on 94.3MHz & Red FM on 93.5MHz are not audible for several months now.And not speak of Akashvani Guwahati Mahabahu FM on 101.6MHz and Akashvani Guwahati Vivid Bharati on 100.8MHz, there has been very poor to not audible at all reception here.

On the occasion of Akashvani Jorhat 's 36th foundation day a special program will be on air today (20th May,2026) from 1432utc( 2002ist ) onwards on 103.4MHz & it wil be also available on news on AIR app.
