The last date of Migration to digital via Saralsanchar website  of Government of India Ministry Of Communication & Department Of Telecommunication(DoT) i.e. https://saralsanchar.gov.in , for all amateur radio license holders who got their licenses by manual method prior to 2020, has been extended further upto June 15,2026. And it is to be noted by all Amateur  Station Operator Certificate(ASO) holders "that ASO license/certicate issued through Saral Sanchar portal of DoT will be preferred for grant of any associated  permissions, e.g. Special Call Sign, Amateur Society etc".

Latest Callsign Received From Guwahati & Much More:

Mr.Samiron Das of Jalukbari, Guwahati has got his Restricted Grade Amateur Radio callsign as VU33QB.

It is to be noted that from the end of  May,2025 onwards Amateur Radio Operators in India are being issued following  blocks of callsign types by Wireless Planning & Coordination(WPC)

For Restricted Garde, VU31 to VU39 series followed by two letters

For General Grade, VU21 to VU29 series followed by two letters

OM VU2JOS wrote an interesting & informative article on Latest Amateur Radio Callsign Issued in India plus its background etc that appeared in Hamfest India 2025, Goa Magazine.

I think in Assam VU22AR OM Dr.Abhijit Rabha a retired Indian Forest Service Officer has created a history of sort as during mid 2025 he upgraded his Restricted grade Amateur Radio , VU3DUK and received the first callsign in Assam under the latest callsign blocks..viz. VU22AR.

Congraluation VU22AR ex VU3DUK !!!

But I am not sure about who got the first restricted grade callsign under the new policy.

Time:0700-0830 IST(0130-0300 UTC) written by VU2PNU ,ONE OF THE NET  CONTROLLER  BELGAUM NET....posted by different person in a amateur radio whatsapp group. .

I thought it is a temporary step in view  of recent QRM on 7050kHz lsb ...many told me about it's permanent  shift to 7150kHz lsb , but no formal post was found by me, now it's official ..as per the latest post . One of amateur radio operator from West Bengal has expressed his fear of possible interference(QRM) on 7145kHz lsb (the informal Eastern India Ham Net)( used by Eastern Indian Hams viz West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkand, Odisha, also from North East India, also from Nepal & Bangladesh) for QSOs, from 7150kHz lsb.So far, no such reports of QRM atleast here in Assam on 7145kHz from 7150kHz as per my monitoring at my location Abhayapuri in Western Assam & other regions.Lets hope for the best.
