A General Observation On 7050kHz lsb:

Belgaum Net Warm Session Summary from 0600-0700ist approx monitoring time

Nowadays, in the morning, as we are moving to summer via spring, is getting noiser and noiser from time to time, noise level moves to S3 sometimes.The reception  condition improves on 40mb overall later in the morning as the noise level moves down to minimum S1 level.But exception does occur.Now as it happens during spring-summer, even the most consistent strong received  station from Chennai of  VU2RZA is getting weaker & weaker.

VU2YUK OM Malcom from Aizawl heard giving call good signal strength S7-S9 here,but he might have not copied others much & others also could not copy him much.

VU2OWB(Khaspur,West Bengal) joining around 0758ist ,VU3NYV from Shillong also joined S7-S9 as his signal strength remains here in my place,

VU2YUK S7 VU3OII(West Bengal) very poor

Monitor's Note :

I was very glad to hear perhpahs first HF contact between amateur operators of Shillong and Aizawl in recent years.

VU2YUK OM Malcom.operating from Aizawl (Mizoram)  heard again after a long break by me on 40mb.From my monitoring record , it was on July 10th of 2022, I heard VU2YUK on my location via uSDX RIG  with a long wire antenna etc set up on 7070kHz lsb from 0733ist onwards and on the frequency as per my record VU2EII OM Vijay  Sonam Da from Naharlagun,Arunachal Pradesh & VU2XBP from Guwahati.He is the first amateur radio station from Mirzoram, I heard on air just like a little earlier perhaps VU3HZT later upgraded to VU2EII, was the first amateur station on air from HF I heard from Arunachal Pradesh.

VU2YUK is still using his  Yaesu FT 891 with End Fed Half Wave(EFHW) antenna.I think he is also problem in reception due to noise prevalent in his locality in Aizawl.

Monitor's Special Note:

For a long time Akashvani Guwahati Mahabahu remains off the air in the early morning from time to time and backs on suddenly late in the morning.Myanmar Radio (In Burmese)sometimes audible on 729kHz when Guwahati  is off the air in the early morning hours but Myanmar Radio disappears ( I mean its signal HI HI) abruptly after sometime.In the evening its the Myanmar Radio which is audible often and giving severe interference to Akashvani Guwahati on 729kHz. Sometimes in the evening, Guwahati remains off the air and you can listen loud and clear signal of Myanmar Radio on medium wave on 729kHz like I heard on April 6th evening.

I will monitor from time to time to give you updates on 729kHz.

Monitor's Special Note:

The reception remains the same on VOM English on 12085kHz during 0900-0930utc here for several seasons.The moderate to heavy interference as  side band splatter from a broadcasting station on 12080kHz during the mentioned time slot prevents me to copy signal of that station.Its only on rare occasion when the station broadcasting remains off the air or the station's reception not very strong here, you can hear to some extent of Voice Of Mongolia English can be audible here in my place.

Akashvani External Service Nepali during 0900-1030utc:

15410kHz(via SPT Bengaluru-250kW?) is the only audible frequency so far upto April 6th during 0900-1030utc i.e.the second transmission of Akashvani External Service Nepali.On the other two parallel frequencies viz 11865kHz and 9795kHz, nothing is audible.Let me check for sometime and report.On the morning shortwave transmission of Akashvani External Service in  Nepali is on lone frequency of 15410kHz  during 0145-0315utc (via SPT Bengaluru-250kW?), the reception is also good upto S9 over 20db & beyond in signal strength.Though sometime slight co-channel interference has been observed. for brief period.

Monitoring Observation Station KNLS English Via Madagascar

0200-0300utc & 0300-0400utc on 13760kHz to India & South Asia in general in A25 season effective March 30th..
Transmission ends a few minutes earlier than mentioned time and perhaps due to antenna change /rotation or other technical reasons.

Here is a few monitoring observations  of KNLS English on 13760kHz .

Monitor's Note:
For all monitoring observations has been made  at my location in Abhayapuri in Western Assam(India)with RIG Yaesu FT 891 and dipole inverted V 40/20mb dual bander except on April 9th as mentioned in due course of the report.

On March 31st, I heard as per my random aircheck in several spells during 0200-0250utc on 13760kHz, good signal with slight fading.

On April 3rd..Jose Jacob (VU2JOS) from Hyderabad alerted me about Station KNLS English was missing on air on 13760kHz as per his aircheck during 0200-0215utc.And around 0220utc, I checked the frequency i.e.13760kHz with my Yaseu FT 891 dipole inverted and not found any signal of the New Life Station here.

On April 4th..around 0211utc on 13760kHz during my routine aircheck on broadcasting frequencies, I found Station KNLS English on air with good signal with QSB(fading).

On April 5th, around 0208utc onwards, I heard very weak signal of KNLS English on 13760kHz and it was gaining strength in signal.And Jose Jacob from Hyderabad informed me on both days, the signal of KNLS were not heard initially and later he could listen to it.

On April 6th..I monitored in spells of KNLS English during 0300-0400utc and found good signal and overall reception.Earlier, I also heard the station with good reception during their first transmission on 13760kHz from 0220utc onwards for sometime.

On April 9th..Around 0207utc I received a message about only carrier with no audio of Station KNLS English on 13760kHz from OM Jose Jacbo(VU2JOS) in Hyderabad.

There was early morning rains & thunders so, I did not monitor on radio.As the weather condition improved and around  I did engerise with battery my Groundig YB 400 with a long wire around 0215utc and I also found the strong carrier only with no audio.Alokesh Gupta(VU3BSE) from Faridabad also stated the same condition there.During my several monitoring spells later, I found only the strong carrier on 13760kHz.The same condition prevailed from 0300utc transmission slot of Station KNLS English on 13760kHz during my aircheck from 0300utc onwards for sometime.Later I switched off the radio for some works.But around 0327utc, I found a text message of Alokesh Gupta that the audio suddenly heard on 13760kHz from 0326utc onwards.Yes, I also heard it on 13760kHz with good signal from  0328utc onwards upto 0354utc on my Grundig YB 400.Here is a few recordings I did which I like  to share..just click on the links..

First Monitoring Report For A25

As new season (summer) season of international radio broadcasting has begun from March 30th(last sunday of March) and will remain effective upto October 25th(last saturday of October).And from October 26th( last sunday of October) ,the winter season of international broadcasting will start and it will be effective upto March 28th(last saturday of the next year i.e.2026).There is need of changes of frequenies  due to earth's ionosphere which varies due to seasonal changes.Interested persons can search the net and can find more detail information about radio wave propagation and international broadcasting matters.

No interference overall reception could be termed as good.But I could not check the transmission to Japan on monday i.e.on March 31st also via RBA Kununurra  on 17650kHz during 2230-2300utc.

I will check on ensuing mondays where the transmission is audible here or not.

Radio Japan NHK World  Bengali on 11655kHz was heard with strong signal strength here on March 30th from 1500utc onwards.

Voice Of Turkiye English on 11660kHz was heard with S5-S9 signal strength (obviously QSBi.e. fading there from time to time) from 1653utc onwards(my aircheck time) .I monitored for a few minutes.Its schedule is  1630-1730utc on 11660kHz directed to India Afghanistan, Pakistan,  Uzbekistan & Turkmenistan.I think transmission ends atleast 5-10 minutes earlier.

March 31st:

BBC World Service English heard on 9510kHz(via Tashkent)/12095kHz(via Oman) during 0000-0200utc.During my random check several time periods, better reception on 12095kHz that 9510kHz.Will have to check more in more detail about other frequencies during different periods of BBC World Service English directed to South Asia.

But on 1413kHz(medium wave relay primarily via Oman) nothing of BBC in English heard during morning plus evening/night hours so far here during 0030-1600utc in several monitoring spells.

Voice Of Turkiye Urdu is now on a differnt frequency(i.e. 17580kHz ..perhaps fast time during summer ) during  their usual summer time schedule of 1200-1300utc.I heard good signal strength with slight QSB(fading) on March 31st during a last three minutes of the transmission.There was Turkish music , signing off announcement followed by station music and signing off around 1254utc abruptly.As mentioned earlier,its transmission ends 5 to 10 minutes earlier.I think this is for technical reasons perhaps.
