0220-0230utc 11905kHz Good  overall reception .slight noise,slight side band splatter as interference,

Monitor's Special Notes (Khas Tippani)

SLBC Ext. Ser Hindi's  first transmission i.e.0030-0100utc  on 11905kHz  is currently off the air.And another thing I have noticed about the 2nd half of transmission i.e. 0200-0230utc slot  that the program airs old Hindi film songs and programs ends only always with songs of late Kundal Lal Saigal as per my observation for a few years.A rare tribute to a singer from a radio station.And SLBC also aired a special tribute program as a mark of respect to  Melody Queen Lata Mangeshkar  on February 6th (2022) on 11750kHz from 1630utc onwards.

Voice Of Mongolia(VOM) English On 12085kHz during 0900-0930utc

The Same Old Story Side Band Splatter from 12080kHz 

The reception remains the same on VOM English on 12085kHz here.The moderate to heavy interference as  side band splatter from a broadcasting station on 12080kHz during the mentioned time slot prevents me to copy signal of that station.It is on rare occasion when signal strength of that  broadcasting station on 12080kHz becomes weak, you can hear some sort of audio from VOM English.This has been the case for several seasons now.

All India Radio (AIR)External Service Nepali 

On 15210kHz , On November 14th,there was no transmission observed during  0209utc  random check on that frequency.

But later around 0233utc,I found strong signal on air and  AIR Morning News In Hindi was on air.

And again on November 15th, I checked around 0200utc ,I found no transmission on that frequency.But later during my another check on 15210kHz from 0247utc .I found AIR Ext Ser. Nepali back on air with strong signal.

Monitor's Note(Khas Tippani):

Due to weakening of signal strength,noise  and fading,I had difficulty in copying the signal and to abandon listening to the DX Program Wavescan.And the reception was not very good on November 6th too.But , my friend from Khaspur West Bengal a BCDXER turned amateur radio operator VU2OWB,OM Avijit Mandal, passed me a Khas Info about the reception of AWR Wavescan on his location.He had excellent reception on 15530kHz of AWR Wavescan on his Kenwood communication receiver.He sent me an audio recording of the program and by listening to it SINPO rating could be given 55555.Thanks VU2OWB for passing the info and the audio recording.

British Broadcasting Corporation(BBC) World Service(WS) English:

BBCWS English was received on 17800kHz from 00022utc to 0030utc during my usual morning monitoring session.

The signal was strong with slight fading .The same program feed on regular frequencies i.e.5980kHz & 5875kHz of BBCWS that time.And a feature on the African country  Burkina Faso was aired.

But the transmission ended all of a sudden with annoucement later around 0029utc there was no program no this channel and carried went off the air around 0030utc.

I thought initially that  BBC WS might be testing  on  17800kHz for 0000-0200utc for the morning ..to South Asia...as the reception is  very noisy on both 5980kHz &  5875kHz.It was just a wild guess only.But later found in a B22 database after extensive search, this transmission 0000-0030utc(daily) on 17800kHz (250kW) is from Tinang,Philipines.

Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation(SLBC) External Service Hindi:

SLBC External Service Hindi is off the air on 11905kHz during its first part of morning transmission from 0030-0100utc for several days now.However, the 2nd part of their transmission on 0200-0230utc is still on the air on 11905kHz.Here is the link to the audio file recorded around 0220utc on SLBC External Service Hindi on 11905kHz today.

I understand as per their morning signing on announcement(earlier) that both transmissions are also on available live  on their website.That's why I heard several times during their closing announcement ,the next transmission would begin from the following day from 6AM IST(0030utc) although now the early morning transmissions on 11905kHz is off the air.

Radio Romania International(RRI) on 7325kHz Early Morning

Now the early morning Spanish Program of RRI directed to North America perhaps now audible here during 0000-0056utc on 7325kHz to some extent.Earlier there was heavy noise observed.As I have mentioned in my several blog posts that this transmission in winter season had been audible with good reception.

Today I found good reception of RRI Spanish during 0032utc onwards for sometime.

But after sometime towards the end there was heavy noise on that frequency, and it was not possible to copy the signal.

And RRI-English to North America East Coast on 7325kHz from 0100-0156utc , was also difficult to copy due to heavy noise.This was not the case earlier in the winter.

This RRI-English transmission was audible for several winter seasons with good reception here in my place on its long standing frequeny of 7325kHz.And now in winter RRI-English has stopped the analog 56 minutes (0400-0456utc) transmission slot to India.The frequencies are on DRM mode viz.11705 & 17790kHz.

But surprisingly in summer season they are back on analog mode with one frequency(11825kHz) in 25mb during the usual 0300-0356utc slot.

From Amateur's Log Lastest Release At Last A Dream Turns Reality

Today, I am going  to share a few logs of a amateur radio operator.

In this October,VU2OWB ,OM Avijit Mandal from Khaspur in Nadia District of West Bengal, shared me details of his first amateur contact in J3E emission class with USA.He made his first QSO with US based amateur station  KE5EE OM Stan from Florida on October 8th on 14207kHz usb in the evening.And after that he made atleast three other contacts with KE5EE on the same frequency in the evening.He used his Kenwood TK80 transreceiver 60W maximum with the inverted V 20mb centre feed dipole.

During my frequent interaction,VU2OWB told me , it was his wish(I term it dream at my liberty) to contact US based amateur station which he was yet to turn reality.At last, On October 8th evening it became reality.

 VU2OWB has used his location  in a remote village plus his knowledge of HF propagation etc to his advantage.  And also he is using both commercial and homebrewed equipments in making QSOs with DX Stations as per propagation condition and experimentation. You may read my post from February 2022 related to VU2OWB's log of Australian amateur stations with his uBITX v6 barefoot .

On November 10th i.e. yesterday..in the evening ,believe it or not he again made a QSO with KE5EE from Florida,USA from 1750ist onwards on 14207kHz usb.And he was given 57 to 58 report by KE5EE.VU2OWB gave 59 report to him.And before that he contacted VK6KJ operating from his location in Western Australia on 14202kHz usb 1740ist onwards.VU2OWB was given 58 report by VK6KJ and VU2OWB gave 59 report to him.I also monitoring and could copy VK6KJ 56 to 53 with QSB & noise but no copy of VU2OWB.I was delighted when VK station called VU2OWB's callsign.

Its on rare occasions I can hear VU2OWB on 20mb due to skip.And the aerial distance between my location in Western Assam and his location is approximately 415.30 km as per a distance locator website.

I have been monitoring VU2OWB's signal right from his days of his initial days of amateur radio operation as VU3MVH his earlier restricted grade callsign with a BITX 40 and homebrewed dipole inverted V antenna as per I could call.And he is a station in my watch list.It is my pleasure to share his logs with all of you.I hope if I become on air with J3E Mode from my own amateur station in distant future,he will be one of the first stations which I like to make a QSO.
