All India Radio Bhupal 0228utc 7430kHz Good Signal  only shortwave station of AIR audible with clear signal at present on shortwave here at Abhayapuri Western Assam.

AIR Gangtok 4835kHz not audible off the air

AIR Jeypore 5040kHz very weak to copy noisy

AIR Hyderabad 7420kHz weak signal noisy 

A few international update on HF:

Bhutan Broadcasting Service(BBS) on 6035kHz  now off the air.

SLBC Hindi on 11905kHz not audible during 0200-0230utc here.Some noisy signal not sure what is the source of this.I will monitor again as I have not done for a few weeks.Let me check from time to time.

Bangladesh Betar 1748utc 4750kHz  strong signal but  distorted audio ..you can say rough audio..English trax perhaps..believe now relaying external service traxs on various languages...

On The Last Morning Of A18....

Today i.e.October 27th is the last day of this A18 season of International Broascasting and here is a few radio logswhich I have done this morning plus a few general radio monitoring observations of A18  .

Latitude:90º37´50´´East

All India Radio(AIR) Portblair was not heard here on 4760kHz this morning from my aircheck of 0020utc onwards.

AIR Shillong i.e. North Eastern Service Of AIR & AIR Jeypore was heard on 4970kHz & 5040kHz on its usual signing on time schedule with good signal.

AIR Gangtok on 4835kHz was not heard today as per my several airchecks from 0232utc onwards upto 0307utc.Perhaps it was off the air during the entire  morning transmission starting from 0100utc.

Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation(SLBC) Hindi...0032utc 11905kHz Music-different music-perhaps National Anthem Of Sri Lanka(not sure),singature tune of SLBC..around a few seconds past 0035utc, announcement by lady about station idd & frequency etc..in Hindi..also announcement about next program "Awabahan"-music.

AIR National Service 0040utc 9380kHz(Via Aligarh) Weather forecast & later signing off announcement around 0041utc in Hindi by a lady followed by National Anthem Good Signal 

Radio Romania International(RRI) English 0045utc 7375kHz Signal was fair & noisy  initially..gained strength suddenly around 0047utc, Music,announcement about station idd plus next program..lady host begun the next program..interview with a lady..

AIR-Thiruvananthapuram  0048-0053utc 5010kHz Music-song South Indian Style,announcement by male voice in Malayam ,music-song by male singer.The signal was poor & but improved slightly around 0050utc with the music.Its after a long break I heard signal of AIR-Thiruvananthapuram.

General Observation Of A18 On Some Regional Shortwave Stations Of AIR:

AIR Kurseong on 4895kHz & 7230kHz,AIR Aizawl on 5050kHz & 7295kHz   are still not on air as per my monitoring observation. 

AIR Gangtok is sometimes heard with strong hum noise completely blocking the audio on 4835kHz and followed by a day's or so off the air and again back with normal audio in this A18 season.It might be due to some technical problem on its transmitter.And also a good news that AIR-Gangtok was recently was heard with good signal on its day time frequency of 6085kHz.

A Sunday Evening With Radio

Hi!! Its after a break of of a several weeks that I'm going to post radio related observations.It has been very hot and humid condition here in my place ,Abhayapuri in Western Assam and rainfall is below per normal level this season.Hope weather will improve as the month of September progresses. 

Now back to the radio monitoring..I heard  several radio stations from the evening of September 2nd ...on sunday.Here is a brief summary my loggings.

The reception was good initially though slight QRM plus noise & fading  but became very noisy plus the signal strength also became weak around 1313utc onwards & I discontinued listening to it at 1316utc.

It is after a long break that I'm now listening to Voice Of Vietnam English on its long standing time slot of 1600utc on 7220kHz.

Adventist World Radio(AWR) Wavescan Reception:

AWR Wavescan 1530-1559utc 15670kHz..via Nauen Germany(MBR) good signal but signal strength reduced gradually towards the end of transmission but could be copied.

AWR Wavescan 1603-1659utc 9580kHz via Trincomalee Sri Lanka( SLBC)

Good Signal,slight fading,slight QRM as side band splatter from a radio station broadcasting from 9570kHz

Voice Of Turkey(VOT) English 1629utc 15520kHz Usual Signature Tune Music with Station Ids announcements Time Signal , opening announcements etc etc ,signal strength was fair,noisy with slightly distorted audio & perhaps signal mixed with co-channel station.I observed there might be another station on the frequency...due to which VOT-English audio got distorted slightly sometimes.The same happens with the audio of KNLS English via MWV on 9600kHz during 0200-0256utc facing strong co-channel QRM from Chinese Radio Station.
