Here is a few radio monitoring observations for the day (November 20,2018) for radio monitors around the world.

1.All India Radio(AIR) Gangtok Special Monitoring Observation:

All India Radio(AIR) Gangtok has been noted with severe hum type noise from time to time on 4835kHz specialy on the morning & also sometimes in the evening.This November as per my monitoring & recording , I've observed it more frequently.Somtimes, the hum type noise disappears after a while and the transmission can be heard without any problem..Today i.e.on November 20th...same thing has happened...

Around 0256 to 0304utc during an aircheck on 4835kHz onwards I heard same noise during AIR Gangtok transmission on  4835kHz relaying Morning News from AIR Delhi & then AIR NE News Bulletin in English relaying from AIR NES Shillong from 0300utc.

Later while another aircheck around 0316utc I heard Hindi flim music on air via AIR-Gangtok on 4835kHz without any hum noise.

Special Note On RRI English:

As per atleast two B18 date bases the 0630-0700utc transmission of RRI English on 15450kHz  directed to India & Australia has been shown on digital mode perhaps on DRM (Tiganesti,90kW)..but as per skd uploaded on RRI English website it is not mentioned as digital mode ..more precisely on  DRM.As per the skd posted only DRM transmission directed to India is during 0400-0456utc on 9820kHz.

Report On fire on All India Radio-Itanagar way back in 2015

At 1600utc 9770kHz Kostinbrod(Sofia)  250kW Nothing was audible only noise & splatter of different radio stations broadcasting on near by channel was heard  but later during several aircheck during 1610-1630utc poor signal of AWR Wavescan was heard.An interesting observations was made by Tehatta(West Bengal) based radio monitor Mr.Abhijit Mondal..he observed that the broadcast via Madagascar delayed by several minutes  than the the broadcast via Kostinbrod(Sofia).Thanks to Mr.Mondal for his observation.

Laos National Radio(LNR) English 1432utc 6130kHz(50kW,Vientiane)  Not very clear audio & not so strong signal,co-channel QRM & side band splatter  was there with fading

Heard the station Idd annc. in English around 1432utc. & followed by frequency announcements etc & news etc..heard the closing annuc.etc around 1500utc.The audio was difficult to copy most of the time due to fading & quality of the signal.

Radio Monitoring Observations From Abhayapuri

Here is a few general radio monitoring observations made be me in my QTH at Abhayapuri at present over several days.

RX:Grundig Yacht Boy 400 ANT:Cu WIRE 78' Length 30' Height With COAX LEADIN  

Geographical Location of Reception Place(Abhayapuri):

Longitude:26º18´20´´North

Latitude:90º37´50´´East

Voice Of Mongolia English 0900-0930utc transmission on 12085kHz as usual is not audible at all due to severe side band splatter from a Chinese radio station broadcasting on 12080kHz.It is happening as far as I can recall right from the beginning of A18 season of broadcast.

Radio New Zealand Pacific English  1100-1300utc on 7425kHz reception has been improving day by day as approaching for B18 season of broadcasting.

 Intereference & Distorted Audio(?):

Station KNLS English via Madagascar World Voice(MWV) on 9600kHz during 0200-0256utc is now facing co-channel interference from a Chinese Radio Station.And for first 20 miniutes or so nothing audible as such of KNLS English signal & after that signal is audible with slighly distorted audio & mixing with Chinese station's audio.And the reception condition of KNLS English improves after 0230utc for even better. 

As mentioned earlier in one of my post ine the blog  that Voice of Turkey English  signal on 15520kHz during 1630-1720utc transmission  is also facing same problem.Its audio becomes slightly distorted when its signal mixes with possible co-channel radio station's signal or adjacent frequency sideband splatter.

But now-a-days the signal of Voice of Turkey English is very weak on 15520kHz as per my monitoring also nothing audible of the co-channel station/adjacent channel.I'll monitor again for better assessment of the reception of Voice of Turkey English.

AIR Urdu Service Update

All India Radio(AIR)'s Urdu Service was noted again this morning i.e.April 3rd(of 2018) on 6140kHz & 7340kHz as per my several aircheck from 0105utc.The reception was far better on 6140kHz.It was not heard on 9620kHz this morning.

Gangtok Back On Air On 4835kHz

This morning i.e.27/01/18..during aircheck ..around 0253utc I found All India Radio(AIR)-Gangtok was on air on 4835kHz  with Morning News Edition relayed from  AIR-Delhi & followed by at 0300utc AIR NE News in English relayed from AIR-Shillong & then from 0305utc programs from AIR Gangtok...Nepali Songs was on air.The reception was good & no hum was observed.

AIR Dibrugrah & AIR Guwahati On Medium Wave Again

Here is few loggings of All India Radio Dibrugrah & Guwahati A on 567kHz & 729kHz respectively as heard on my location.

On The Evening Of July 7th of 2017 ,I found good signal of All India Radio(AIR)-Dibrugarh on 567kHz around 1435utc onwards...the was slight co-channel QRM Is  it NHK..or Radio Myanmar or Laos National Radio rebroadcasting of NHK...or other station???

All India Radio(AIR)-Guwahati On 729kHz medium wave was noted with good & slightly noisy signal on July 4th from 0315utc onwards.There was Geeti Malika.. the Assamese Modern   music  program composed by AIR-Guwahati's own staff & recognised artists on air...,the end of the program announcements etc,promos,regional news (all in Assamese)

A Few Monitoring Updates On All India Radio Stations On Shortwave

Here is a few of my latest radio monitoring observations on All India Radio Regional Stations on shortwave.

Antenna:Long Copper  Wire(30 ft plus length)..height 20ft Plus  as External  Antenna

First Our Own All India Radio(AIR) Regional Stations On Shortwave In My Region (NE India)...::
AIR-Aizawl is off the air for several weeks..It was received with  the strongest signal here  amongst all the NE Region Regional AIR Stations on shortwave in recent time..specially in the morning.
But ...strange observation..on May 28th sunday..around 1530utc..on 5050kHz..
I heard fair signal of a radio station broadcasting AIR Evening News In English.I think AIR-Aizawl might have tested their transmitter..by relaying evening news from Delhi..But On May 29th..in the morning no trace of signal of AIR-Aizawl could be heard.And on May 29th evening around 1522utc approx. I again heard AIR Evening News in Hindi on 5050kHz.And I didn't heard any morning transmission of AIR-Aizawl on 5050kHz as far as my latest morning on May 31st.

And AIR-Kuresong is not air for several days on 4895kHz as per my observations.
Now AIR-Gangtok on 4835kHz has been received with the strongest signal in the morning amongst the All India Radio...In the evening also the reception quality of AIR-Gangtok has improved siginificantly.
And the audio quality level has improved to a great extent of AIR-Shillong on 4970kHz both in the morning & evening.

A FLASH ON AIR:
AIR-Chennai at the evening on 4920kHz has been received here  without co-channel interference from Chinese Regional Station for several days.
