FM FLASH AIR Goalpara QSP AIR Guwahati Mahabahu Programs

 After Observing All India Radio(AIR) Goalpara on 102.6MHz for a few weeks now, it has been relaying(QSP) AIR Guwahati Mahabahu  programs instead of relaying previous AIR Vividh Bharati Programs from Mumbai.It is good step.But I think at late  night to early morning hours  Vividh Bharati programs can be aired too.Goalpara Town is just around 22km approx. aerially from my place and it is situated just on the south bank  of the Brahmaputra.
Actually, what I happened, I could not hear here AIR Goalpara signal on 101.6MHz for a few days.Later, after a break of a few days perhaps on April 8th in the morning onwards,I am listening AIR Goalpara relaying AIR Guwahati Mahabahu  programs.
AIR Guwahati Mahabahu( ex AIR Guwahati A) is at present audible on 729kHz (medium wave) and also on  101.6MHz(FM).I guess the FM transmitter of AIR Goalpara is situated at the top of the Hulukanda Pahar of the town.I think the station is in relay mood at present.And the power may be around (1kW)not sure.But the reception has been excellent here so far.It is now active as relay station for several years now.

The Boxing Day Special Good Reception Of F8E Emissions

On the Boxing Day i.e.On December 26th, to my surprise right from early morning hours,I heard good reception of all Guwahati based private FM broadcasting stations(F8E FM stereo broadcast) viz Radio Mirchi on 95MHz,BIG FM on 92.7MHz,Red FM on 93.5MHz till late in the morning upto approximately 0400utc(i.e.0930hr IST/9:30AM) for nearly tow hours.Another station Gupshup FM that broadcasts on 94.3MHz also heard with good reception but the station also broadcast from Dhuburi town within 80-90 km approximately aerially from my hometown besides Guwahati city.As I have not heard any specific station identification as such during my random monitoring this time.Earlier once,I indeed heard the station identification as Gupshup FM Dhubri this year.

But All India Radio(AIR) FM Stations, i.e.AIR Guwahati Mahabahu On 101.6MHz and AIR Guwahati Vividh Bharati on 100.8MHz were not very strong on that day.The signal strength  was stronger on 101.6MHz than 100.8MHz.

But the strongest signal strength ,I heard was my nearest FM Radio Station ..i.e.AIR Goalpara on 102.6MHz ..relaying AIR Mumbai's Vividh Bharati programs.And Goalpara is nearly 20-25km approximately aerially from my place on the sourthern bank of the Brahmaputra river.

Bhutan Broadcasting Service (BBS) on 96MHz was also audible with Bhutanese language programs and the Nepali Service programs from 0400utc but the signal strength was not so strong and slightly noisy.

My radio monitor friend Avijit Mondal(VU2OWB)from Khaspur,West Bengal informed me later in the day, he also could copy on the boxing day many FM broadcasting Stations from across  the border from Bangladesh loud and clear in his radio.

Jewel Thief in Goalpara Town!!!

A few days back at night,while monitoring All India Radio(AIR) Goalpara on its usual F8E class of emission(FM Wideband Stereo) in my receiver, I heard the evergreen song of then superhit Hindi film.."Jewel Thief" in 1960s by Lataji ..Rulake geya Swopna Mere..the one of my all time hits.. it was on air as part of Jaimala Program of AIR Mumbai Vividh Bharati, which is relayed by AIR Goalpara often.I think, the transmitter of AIR Goalpara is at the opt of the Hulukanda Hill at Goalpara Town.Goalpara Town may be 20-25km aerial distance from Abhayapuri town on the south bank of the Brahmputra connected by the Naranarayan Sethu.The signal is well received here at Abhayapuri with my Grundig Yacht Boy 400 sometime even with my telescopic antenna only.

FM BEAT THIS MORNING AT ABHAYAPURI

It is after a long time I have listened this morning(February 18th) several FM broadcasting stations together during  0330-0402utc on my Grundig Yacht Boy 400 receiver with my Telescopic antenna fully extended.Most of radio stations heard were All India Radio(AIR) stations, three private commercial stations from Guwahati and one from Bhutan.

Only commercial FM Station I could hear this monitoring period was from Guwahati with good signal was Big FM.

Other privately owned commercial stations like Radio Mirchi 95.0MHz  & Red FM 93.5MHz from Guwahati was too weak here during the mornitoring period.

From my place Abhayapuri, Guwahati is around 107km away aerially,Goalpara is around 30km  away aerially,aerial distance of Thimpu  around 163.93 km with my place.

From FM Rainbows To VIvdh Bharati Plus AIR Guwahati A Relays

All India Radio(AIR) Goalpara on 102.6MHz which previously relayed AIR's FM Rainbow programs which could be heard in my home town Abhayapuri ..(aerial distance of 31.37km Approx.) on the northern bank of the Brahmaputra, , now on air with AIR's Vividh Bharati programs and also relaying AIR Guwahati A's transmission in Assamese ( on 729kHz on Medium Wave) as per monitoring for past several days from evening...The reception from late afternoon & evening has been excellent. But I'm unable to tune into AIR-Goalpara in the morning & day time and not sure whether it is off the air during that period.
