Flowering Of Mango Trees & Call Of Cuckoo ... Advent of Spring

I heard the call of Cuckoo here  first time in short spell around 1427ist (2:27PM) i.e.0857utc , one minute later one day lightly longer spell from our campus North side. .Rushed to outside to record the audio but it stopped calling.

This year I have observed flowering in several  of the Mango Trees in our residential campus and its  fragrance can be felt  by nose's smell S-Meter....S9 with perfect copy 5 59  HI HI  

And later around 1703ist(5:03PM) i.e. 1133utc onwards for a few minutes with slight pause, heard another spell of the cuckoo's calling from outside our campus from South East side and weaker sound heard.This might be from distance.

From many winter seasons too,a few  Asiatic Koel both male & female are found roaming around our campus.They also eat fruits, rooti & bread etc thrown around on the ground by us.

Medium Wave & FM Updates From Abhayapuri

AIR Guwahati On Medium Wave And On FM 

All India Radio (AIR) Guwahati on medium wave as per my monitoring is on air on as both  Mahabahu channel (ex Guwahati A) on 729kHz and Pragjyotishpur (ex Guwahati B) on 1035kHz as separate channels for several weeks now.

And I am also getting sometimes fair to poor signal of AIR Guwahati's Vividh Bharati FM relay on 100.8MHz (same program feed of AIR Goalpara Vividh Bharati Relay on 102.6MHz) from time to time.And also getting reasonal signal from time to time of AIR Mahabahu's FM relay on 101.6MHz here in my place,which is nearly 107km away approx. from Guwahati aerially.

Bangladesh Betar Dhaka on 693kHz  Domestic Service :

I have not heard yet Bangladesh Betar Dhaka on 693kHz on air.I guess ,their repair and maintenance works on the transmitter is still going on and it is running behind the schedule due to bad weather and other reasons.

BBS on 96.0MHz

Bhutan Broadcasting Service on 96.0 MHz(via Thimphu?) is also audible here in different languages here in my location in Western Assam.The Nepali Service is audible from 0400utc onwards and often audible with good reception.But their shortwave transmission is still off the air for a long time on 6035kHz.I guess BBS's English Service still on air from 0800utc for a few hours.I have not monitored it for several weeks.

 A few medium wave log which I like to share with you all for the morning of May 16th  0250utc onwards this morning long wire endfeed external antenna on Grundig YB400 receiver.

Good to poor..overall reception ..QSA going down after 0300utc approx..

AIR Shillong 864kHz good signal

 AIR Itanagar 675kHz fair

Bangladesh Betar 819kHz very weak..

 No signal heard of  AIR Kokrajhar on 1512kHz 

More reports,observations etc on medium wave and FM reception of broadcasting stations from time to time.

First Day First Report for B21 Season On Radio Japan NHK World A Few Observations

Here is a few monitoring observations of Radio Japan NHK World Bengali,Hindi & Urdu Transmission on new frequencies on the very first day i.e. of October 31st of B21 season (winter) of international broadcasting.

Signal strength was good intitally later weakened slightly,audio intensity audio (  low modulation  as the case of Tashkent transmission),slight noise,fading was there as transmission progressed,slight ..very weak sideband splatter  as source of interference

Good signal strength,side band splatter slight as a source of interference from a radio station broadcasting on 9585kHz,overall reception was good
