Radio Station Nearest To Me..All India Radio-Kokrajhar

Around 60 km By Road ..Not Far Yet ...Remains To Far For Me

Yes,wayback in 2010 after several attempts I heard relatively readable signal of All India Radio-Kokrajhar on 1512kHz via my Philips DL334 Analog Rx & my Grundig YB 400 Rx signing on with usual AIR Station signature tune plus station identification announcement in Bodo Language.I still remember , my Senior DX Friend Alokesh Gupta of New Delhi called the station official at the landline telephone number  and enquried  about its going off the air for sometime during that time.He informed me about it.And I was very amazed  by his interest and commitment to DXING hobby.And after a few weeks, I heard AIR-Kokrajhar back on air on 1512kHz around 1030utc..the regular signing on time.It mainly broadcasts in Bodo Language,the language of Bodo Community Of Assam. .But I still regret that I failed to send reception report on their transmission both to their Kokrajhar address & also via e-mail to Spectrum Manager,AIR New Delhi..Recently, I tried to listen it several times but couldn't  get its signal.My another DX Friend,Swopan Chakrovorty of Kolkata who was a frequent visitor to the area because of  his job ,asked me to visit AIR-Kokrajhar Station and also expressed his desire to visit AIR-Kokrajhar with me but due to his hectic tour program, the visit couldn't take place.My friend, Sanjeev Sakar,who now stays in Kokrajhar informed me about the location of the AIR-Kokrajhar and he also promised me to accompany me .But still......
I'm not sure now the present skd of AIR-Kokrajhar and whether it is now on air on regular basis on medium wave on 1512kHz.I'll try to monitor it on 1512kHz around 1030utc utc and let me see what I find.
Wayback in 2010,I recorded a few moments of audio of AIR-Kokrajhar on 1512kHz around 1032utc ...On October

Listening Report Of AIl India Radio-Dibrugarh From A Long Time Silent Listener Of Western Front Of Assam

While tuning the Medium Wave Band via my Philips DL334 Rx on battery without any external antenna, I heard on July 3rd (2017).. evening in my QTH Abhayapuri rare songs of Assamese Music Legend late Jayanta Hazarika around 1423utc aprrox. onwards  on All India Radio(AIR)-Dibrugarh on 567kHz.The signal strength was good though slightly noisy with slight to moderate fading sometimes as usually the case of medium wave signal.There was very weak co-channel interference was heard sometime.In this recording attached here...this song of Late Jayanta Hazarika was never heard by me before perhaps one of the rare song....perhaps recorded in AIR-Dibrugarh studio.

A Few Of My Latest Observations On AIR Regional Stations On Shortwave

Here is a few of my Monitoring Observations on All India Radio(AIR) Regional Stations...on shortwave.

Geographical Location of Reception Place(Abhayapuri):

First From our North Eastern Region...

AIR-Aizawl  is still off the air as I haven't found any signal on 5050kHz ..AIR-Gangtok on 4835kHz is now the strongest shortwave station heard in my QTH from our region.AIR-Shillong on 4970kHz is also audible with improved signal quality.

I observed AIR-Gangtok & AIR-Shilllong going off the air for a day & two or a few hours sometimes.

From Eastern Zone..& North Zone etc..

AIR-Kurseong is still off the air on 4895kHz & ...

AIR-Jeypore on 5040kHz is audible with strong signal in the morning.But sometimes its audio gets distorted. 

AIR-Bhopal is also audible on both 4810kHz & 7430kHz with variable reception.AIR-Joypur on 4910kHz is audible with poor reception.

Another interesting development..From South Zone....

AIR-Chennai is now audible with fair signal sometimes good without any co-channel QRM from Chinese Regional Station on 4920kHz for several weeks.

But AIR-Hyderabad on 4800kHs is still facing co-channel QRM from Chinese Regional Station and is still not copiable.But on 7420kHz in the morning AIR-Hyderbad is audible to some extent.

 The reception of AIR-Porblair on 4760kHz & AIR-Thiruvananthapuram on 5010kHz is not very good as the case usually happens in summer. 

But from a few days AIR-Thiruvananthapuram on 5010kHz is noted here in the morning with fair to poor reception quality.with noise & moderate fading  on 5010kHz.

I observed strong peiodic morse code signal on this frequency from time to time in the morning.

All India Radio(AIR)-Chennai was noted on 4920kHz with fair signal and free from co-channel  QRM of Chinese Regional Station this morning here in my location as monitored around 0105utc.

AIR-Thiruvananthapuram on 5010kHz was also noted with poor & noisy signal around same time.
AIR-Portblair on 4760kHz was not audible here this morning.

AIR-Aizwal on 5050kHz & AIR-Kursong on 4895kHz is still of the air for several weeks as observed.
AIR-Gangtok was heard this morning with good signal on 4835kHz.

Reach Beyond Australia In Nagamese:
Reach Beyond Australia in association with Highland Dawn Media Nagaland (HDM) is airing thrice weekly (Saturday,Sunday & wednessday) Nagamese Christian Program on shortwave on 9685kHz from 1215utc to 1245utc via Kununurra beginning May 13th of 2017.
On May 21st..I tried to listen to it..the reception was noisy..signal strength was fair but due to QRM .i.e.Side band splatter & .....QRN..poor readibility

KNLS English via Madagarcar World Voice(MVW):
KLNS -English via MWV is facing slight co-channel QRM by a radio station broadcasting on Chinese on 9600kHz.(0200-0256UTC)...as per recent monitoring.

On two days of monitoring observations ..May 28th & 29th around 0307utc for a few moment..Instead of KNLS English  via MWV on 15515kHz...I found a Chinese Language Station with good signal...Perhaps wrong Chinese  feedof KNLS  was on air...
But from May 30th..KNLS English has been back on air with usual good signal.

Bangladesh Betar On 4750kHz On May 30th:
I heard Bangladesh Betar Home Service Relay on 4750kHz today(On May 30th) morning with good signal from around 0058utc onwards.News in Bengali was heard at 0100utc onwards.Perhaps due to Mora cyclone it was activated from early morning.

But On May 31st,I didn't hear any trace of Bangladesh Betar on 4750kHz in the morning.

First Our Own All India Radio(AIR) Regional Stations On Shortwave In My Region (NE India)...::
AIR-Aizawl is off the air for several weeks..It was received with  the strongest signal here  amongst all the NE Region Regional AIR Stations on shortwave in recent time..specially in the morning.
But ...strange observation..on May 28th sunday..around 1530utc..on 5050kHz..
I heard fair signal of a radio station broadcasting AIR Evening News In English.I think AIR-Aizawl might have tested their transmitter..by relaying evening news from Delhi..But On May 29th..in the morning no trace of signal of AIR-Aizawl could be heard.And on May 29th evening around 1522utc approx. I again heard AIR Evening News in Hindi on 5050kHz.And I didn't heard any morning transmission of AIR-Aizawl on 5050kHz as far as my latest morning on May 31st.

And AIR-Kuresong is not air for several days on 4895kHz as per my observations.
Now AIR-Gangtok on 4835kHz has been received with the strongest signal in the morning amongst the All India Radio...In the evening also the reception quality of AIR-Gangtok has improved siginificantly.
And the audio quality level has improved to a great extent of AIR-Shillong on 4970kHz both in the morning & evening.

A FLASH ON AIR:
AIR-Chennai at the evening on 4920kHz has been received here  without co-channel interference from Chinese Regional Station for several days.
